Load the dishwasher
Make room for water to reach every dish.
Do it step by step
- Scrape leftover food into the appropriate bin.
- Put sturdy plates and bowls in the racks with space between them.
- Place cups upside down; keep delicate or hand-wash items out.
- Ask an adult where sharp knives and dishwasher detergent belong.
Check your work
Nothing blocks the spray arms; dishes do not nest together.
