Kindos Privacy Policy
Kindos is built for families. This policy explains the information the Kindos app and getkindos.com may process, why it is used, and the controls available to families.
Information Kindos may process
Depending on the features a family chooses to use, Kindos may process account and profile information; family and household relationships; chores, homework, calendar items, rewards and allowance records; family messages, posts, reactions and memories; photos or other media a user chooses to upload; AI Tutor and Ask Kindos conversations; device notification tokens; school-connection information when a school feature is enabled; support requests; and location or Safe Place information when location sharing is enabled.
How information is used
Information is used to provide the family features a user requests, keep family data synchronized, personalize age-appropriate experiences, operate rewards and progress tools, deliver reminders, support AI-assisted features, provide safety and location features when enabled, prevent abuse, troubleshoot the service and respond to support or deletion requests.
Family accounts and children
Kindos is a family service with parent or guardian controls. Parents and authorized adults can create or manage child profiles and permissions. Connected grandparents, co-parents and other trusted adults receive only the access granted for the relevant family or child. Connected families do not merge simply because one trusted adult participates in more than one family.
Location sharing and Safe Places
Location sharing is optional and starts off until enabled. Adults control whether their own location is shared; another adult cannot turn sharing on for them. Parents or family administrators may manage sharing for child or teen profiles. Authorized family members can be granted permission to view shared location. Safe Places can store a name, coordinates and recognition radius so Kindos can show practical family context such as Home, School or Grandma’s house. The current beta does not use continuous background tracking.
AI Tutor and Ask Kindos
When AI features are used, the text, images, audio or contextual information needed for that request may be processed by service providers that help Kindos generate the requested response. Kindos is designed to keep AI experiences age-aware and parent-controlled. Raw GPS coordinates are not intended to be supplied to the Tutor merely to answer learning questions.
Photos, messaging and family content
Family messages, posts and uploaded media are intended for the family spaces and people authorized by the family. Users should only upload content they have the right to share. Kindos includes reporting and family controls intended to help manage inappropriate content or access.
Service providers
Kindos may use infrastructure, authentication, storage, AI, email, notification, analytics or platform providers to operate the service. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Kindos and are subject to their own security and privacy obligations.
Data retention and deletion
Information is retained while needed to provide Kindos, maintain security and shared-family records, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Account holders can request deletion in the app or at getkindos.com/delete-account/. Some shared-family records or information required for security or legal obligations may be retained or de-identified when appropriate.
Security
Kindos uses access controls and account authentication to limit family data to authorized users. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so families should use strong, unique passwords and keep device access protected.
Your choices
Families can choose whether to use optional features such as location, photos, AI tools and school connections; manage family-member permissions; pause adult location sharing; revoke trusted-adult access; and request account or data deletion.
Changes
Kindos is in beta and features may evolve. If this policy changes materially, the effective date will be updated and appropriate notice will be provided.
