Unload the dishwasher
Put clean dishes away safely.
Do it step by step
- Check that the cycle has finished and dishes have cooled.
- Start with the lower rack so water from the top rack does not drip down.
- Carry a few items at a time with two hands.
- Put each item in its usual place, and ask where unfamiliar items go.
Check your work
The racks are empty and the door is closed.
When to ask an adult
Ask for help with hot, sharp, fragile or high-up items.
