KINDOS FAMILY SAFETY · PRINTABLE

🧒 If a Child Gets Separated From You

Quick first steps for families. Keep this guide somewhere easy to find and review it before you need it.

Emergency first: If anyone is in immediate danger, seriously injured, having trouble breathing, unconscious, or you believe the situation may be life-threatening, call 911 or your local emergency services now.

What to do

Teach kids to stop and look for a safe helper

Examples can include uniformed staff, security, police, firefighters, or a parent with children depending on the setting.

Use a meeting place

At large venues, choose a visible meeting point before separating.

Notify staff immediately

Give a clear description and last-known location.

Keep one adult at the last-seen location when practical

Children often return to where they last saw the family.

Call 911 when risk is elevated

Do so for a very young/vulnerable child, dangerous surroundings, suspected abduction, or when you believe urgent police help is needed.
