📵 If Your Phone Dies Away From Home

Quick first steps for families. Keep this guide somewhere easy to find and review it before you need it.

Emergency first: If anyone is in immediate danger, seriously injured, having trouble breathing, unconscious, or you believe the situation may be life-threatening, call 911 or your local emergency services now.

What to do

Go to your pre-agreed meeting place

Use the family location chosen before the outing when possible.

Ask a trusted staff member for help

Use a staffed desk, store, library, hotel, station or other public location.

Know one phone number

Teach family members at least one trusted adult number when age-appropriate.

Avoid wandering between locations

Stay in a predictable safe place unless safety requires moving.

Use your backup plan

Portable battery, written contact card and printed itinerary can help.
